Olivier Job Index reports IT jobs ads on par with national average

The Australian job market dropped slightly in October with the IT sector remaining stagnant, according to the latest results from the Olivier Job Index.
The minutes from the latest Reserve Bank board meeting paint an overall positive picture for the economy. There are further signs of stabilisation in the world economy. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) outcome for the March quarter had been surprisingly strong and even though business sector investment had fallen by six per cent in the March quarter, this was still a stronger performance than in many other countries, according to the minutes.
A monthly survey of job ads shows that IT jobs ads are dropping faster than the national average, with a fall of 1.9 per cent in June.
The IT job market fell 15 percent in March, crashing to the level of 2005 and down by 53 per cent on the same time last year, according to the Olivier Job Index.
