First images of the brand-new Google tablet
Seventh heaven for Android tablet fans
Google provided the first official look at the new Nexus 7 tablet today at the Google I/O conference.
Small but powerful
The Nexus 7 is powered by Nvidia's Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and packs a bright, sharp 1280x800 screen into a 7-inch form factor.
Taiwanese hardware makers Asus helped Google bring the project to fruition.
While it's not the skinniest device out there, the Nexus 7 is still pretty compact.
Google talked up the Nexus 7's media capabilities, saying that it's a perfect device for books, magazines, music and movies available via the Google Play Store.
Integration with many of the new features of Android 4.1 Jellybean make the Nexus 7 a more helpful organizer than ever.
The screen, again
The display looks sharp and clear, at a glance.
Along with its quad-core Tegra CPU, the Nexus 7 has a 12-core graphics processor, making it a muscular option for portable gaming.
