    Apart from the higher cost, the other bane of broadband in Australia is of course the data cap. Not all countries have these and, while the situation in Australia is getting better, this graph shows that we are far behind the likes of Canada that offered an average monthly quota of 76.7GB last year.

  • Broadband by technology Current at: June 2009 A snapshot of how much market share each broadband technology has a hold of globally. DSL is, unsurprisingly, the majority stakeholder. However, don't forget this was taken nearly a year ago and, since then, talk of fibre deployment has ramped up significantly around the world. We wouldn't be surprised if fibre and even cable had much greater market share this year.
