IronPort Systems, the world’s leading email security products company, has announced the latest version of the IronPort C-Series Email Security Appliance. The IronPort C-Series now includes Email Security Manager, a single and comprehensive dashboard providing unprecedented insight and control for all email security tools including IronPort’s preventive Reputation Filtering and Virus Outbreak Filters, as well as Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus, Content Scanning, Policy Management and Message Encryption.
The latest version of the IronPort C-Series marks a significant step forward in the industry, beyond spam fighting, by providing a single appliance, with a vast feature set and easy-to-use interface that attacks the complex email security problem with technological sophistication and power.
IronPort Email Security Manager: IronPort Email Security Manager incorporates critical components of preventive and reactive security solutions with a sophisticated user interface to simplify the task of protecting critical email infrastructures. Combined with IronPort’s centralised management functionality, Email Security Manager allows network administrators to set different incoming mail flow policies for individual senders, giving administrators the unique ability to rate message delivery based on the reputation of each sender. Administrators can also retrieve real-time and historical email traffic reports for analysis and tracking.
Virus Outbreak Filters: As a unique part of the latest version of the IronPort C-Series Email Security Appliance, Virus Outbreak Filters provide a proactive, critical first layer of defense against new virus outbreaks. Analysing global data from SenderBase, the industry's largest email traffic monitoring network, the IronPort solution detects new virus outbreaks and responds dynamically to provide protection. Beta results from Virus Outbreak Filters have shown incredible effectiveness. During the ‘my doom.o’ variant outbreak, the IronPort Virus Outbreak Filters detected and quarantined infected messages 4 hours and 48 minutes ahead of traditional defenses, blocking more than 40,000 infected messages at a typical Fortune 500 company.

Delegated administration of the quarantine can be leveraged to reduce administrative burden and allow service or legal personnel to release or delete messages from the system.
