LivePerson Moves to New ‘Next Gen’ Office in South of Melbourne

Leading provider of online and mobile messaging solutions moves to 'future work space' that reaffirmstheir philosophy of connection

LivePerson, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPSN), a leading provider of online and mobile messaging solutions, today announced their new office opening in South of Melbourne. The new workspace will support the demands of the technology provider across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

With Australia’s top four banks, Qantas and Telstra amongst its client base, LivePerson’s APAC region has seen a 60 per cent growth in revenue between 2012 and 2015 and a tenfold increase in staffing levels. Further, LivePerson’s sturdy momentum in the region also accompanied the launch of two data centres in Sydney and Melbourne last year, providing state-of-the-art backup and redundancy in response to the rising demand for Cloud in the region.

To cultivate a thriving culture in the APAC region, LivePerson invested time and money into finding the right space, wanting to go beyond the 2015 hot trend of the open office and move to the ‘next gen’ of office spaces—the Agile office.

“At the moment there is an office trend of flexibility, enabling employees to work where they are most productive,” said Steve Fitzjohn, Regional VP, APAC at LivePerson. “Usually this translates to working from home, but we believe the office environment can be adapted to accommodate both productivity and collaboration. That’s what our design is all about.”

LivePerson is one of the first companies to adopt the new and innovative Agile design, saying goodbye to rows of desks and adding in writeable walls, community cubbies, exercise equipment and flexible desk options.

“We’ve worked with leading designers to create an innovative workplace for our burgeoning team. We’re evolving from the open office to an Agile design that promotes an environment people are proud and comfortable to work in, while providing the team with tools to suit every task,” commented Fitzjohn.

The move reflects LivePerson’s investment and commitment to the region and dedication to helping its local customers prepare for the future of communications. The new office is purpose-built with technology consultants in mind, encompassing functional and quiet areas whilst promoting an open and collaborative workspace.

The Melbourne office will spearhead the company’s activities across the APAC region with support from the Japan office.

The new office

The design of the new office is closely aligned to the company’s mission of creating meaningful connections and promotes a layout of no barriers or cubicles. In addition, the new workspace is also designed to reflect LivePerson’s core philosophy of helping others.

Following LivePerson’s winning workspace formula, the new Melbourne office will feature zones including, Business as Usual: for day to day activities; Meet & Collaborate: technology filled spaces to come together to work; Focus: a retreat or quiet space to call customers and community; Enjoy: a well-earned break space to connect with colleagues over a game or brainstorm a creative project.

LivePerson has been recognised in the U.S. for their workspace and commitment to company culture, having been featured in numerous “Best Places to Work” lists. As a known leader in the push for innovative workspaces, LivePerson has spoken at the Future Offices Summit and also hosts events for the larger community to discuss how to make a culture-driven workplace a reality.
