The IP telephone wave is coming

During the late 1970s and early 1980s, a wave of change swept across the enterprise telephone system industry, which was at that time referred to as the private branch exchange industry. The wave was caused by the technology shift from analog systems, which were the most common at the time, to digital TDM (time-division multiplexing) systems. These systems, which were smaller, less expensive to manufacture and simpler to maintain, became the focus of most PBX manufacturers.

Tis the season to be paid off

I recently got a call from a colleague who sells to the technology sector. He asked how to respond to a customer’s request asking each of its vendors to make a substantial donation to the customer’s IT department Christmas party. My friend’s company wouldn’t pay up the bucks and he was concerned that this might adversely affect its relationship with the customer.
