In brief: Huawei's Australian revenue up 18 per cent

Networking equipment and smartphone manufacturer Huawei boosted its Australian sales revenue by 18 per cent in its 2014 financial year, the Chinese-owned company announced this morning.
The company reported significant growth across the carrier, enterprise and consumer segments.
Enterprise sales revenue increased over 109 per cent during the year, the company said. Consumer revenue increased more than 38 per cent.
"In the carrier domain, Australian carriers recognise Huawei as a trusted strategic partner for their business transformation," Huawei Australia's CEO, James Zhao, said in a statement.
In 2014, Australian revenue from the carrier business increased 11 per cent.
The company didn't provide dollar figures for its revenue in the country, but internationally Huawei reported net profit for the year of US$4.5 billion, up 32.7 per cent, on revenue of US$46.5 billion for 2014, up 20.6 per cent from 2013.
