Vendors have jumped on yesterday's launch of Spotify music streaming service in Australia to highlight their Spotify-friendly devices.
Western Digital's WD TV media streamers support Spotify, including the service's social sharing features and playback of the higher quality tracks available to Spotify Premium subscribers.
Sonos offers support to Spotify Premium subscribers with its Sonos Play:3 and Sonos Play:5 media players, in conjunction with the companies Sonos Bridge networking accessory.
Spotify's basic free offering allows unlimited, ad-supported music streaming from a PC. The company has struck deals with Warner Music Australia, EMI Music Australasia, Universal Music and Sony Music Entertainment, as well as independent labels, delivering some 16 million songs to users.
The Spotify Unlimited service costs $6.99 and removes ads, while Spotify Premium service costs $11.99 per month and offers mobile playback support.
Spotify launched in Sweden in 2008. It now has 10 million active users, including more than 3 million customers of its paid 'Unlimited' and 'Premium' services. The service launched in the US in July last year.
