Microsoft Australia managing director Steve Vamos and IT Minister Helen Coonan will join international speakers at a telecommunications conference to be held in Canberra this week.
Participants will debate Australia's changing telecommunications landscape at the event hosted by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
To be held from November 23-24, other key speakers at the event include the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) chairman Graeme Samuel and UK public policy director of the Vodafone Group, Richard Feasey.
More than 25 panellists, including a number of international representatives, will also be part of the conference program.
ACMA chair Chris Chapman said the conference theme recognises the changing nature of the communications environment and the broadening responsibilities the ACMA holds as a regulator, spanning telecommunications, broadcasting, radiocommunications and online content.
'We have developed the panel discussions throughout the program with an eye to staging thought-provoking and future-looking discussions," he added.
The conference program, with details of the speakers and expert panellists, is available on the ACMA Web site.
