C&W HKT, Nokia to Push VPN in Asia

STOCKHOLM (05/09/2000) - Nokia Corp. and Cable & Wireless HKT Ltd. have agreed to jointly provide VPN (virtual private network) security products to corporate customers in Asia.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Hong Kong-based carrier will help Nokia deploy its VPN security appliances to provide its corporate customers in Asia with products for reliable data communications between multiple networks and the Internet, Nokia said in a statement yesterday.

The Espoo, Finland-based network and telecommunications equipment vendor will also provide services to help C&W HKT integrate the Nokia security appliances into the existing networking environment.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
