CRM specialist Siebel has selected Attachmate to join the Siebel Alliance program, providing Siebel customers with realtime access to legacy data and applications.
The global partnership, which sees Attachmate become a Siebel strategic software partner, provides customers with the ability to connect CRM applications with legacy systems such as IBM mainframes, RS/600 machines and Unix servers, Rick Finlay, Attachmate's business development manager for Asia-Pacific, said.
"It provides an online transaction interface for CRM applications," he said. "Attachmate's strength is in providing connectivity between legacy systems, middleware and workstation applications."
Under the agreement, Attachmate will integrate its eVantage products into Siebel's eBusiness applications and will provide Siebel customers with easy access to the legacy applications.
"CRM is a very important strategy to most organisations now," Finlay said. "Siebel is the leader in the marketplace."
Finlay was unable to reveal what return Attachmate is expecting to generate from the partnership, but said: "We see a very significant business opportunity for our products and services."
