AT&T, CommerceQuest Ally on Messaging

AT&T on Monday teamed up with Florida-based e-commerce company CommerceQuest in a deal that has AT&T providing IP messaging and other services for online trading communities.

Specifically, AT&T will fuel CommerceQuest's business-to-business e-commerce applications with EDI (electronic data interchange) network services, in addition to IP messaging capabilities.

Under the alliance -- a value-added reseller agreement -- AT&T beginning in June will start offering CommerceQuest's EnableNet service.

EnableNet is billed as a transactional messaging capability that spans diverse platforms, protocols, and geographical areas, according to company officials.

AT&T Corp., in Basking Ridge, N.J., is at www.att.com. CommerceQuest Inc., in Tampa, Fla. is at www.commercequest.com.
