New State Agency Stops IT Project Implementation

Sofia (05/23/2000) - Bulgaria's new agency for collecting state revenues -- including taxes, social and health-care securities and others -- has made its presence felt in the IT market too. It will make changes to the already-started information systems projects for the Ministry of Finance, the Chief Tax Department, the Medical Insurance Bureau, and the National Social-Security Institute, which were expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Observers of the Bulgarian corporate IT market expect that the World Bank will again finance the integration of information systems for the Agency with a credit of US$20 million to $30 million
