SAN FRANCISCO (04/03/2000) - Dell Computer Corp. Wednesday will outline a wide-ranging plan to capture a larger share of the dollars that corporations and service providers spend on computers to build out their Internet infrastructures, Dell said in a statement issued today.
At a press conference scheduled for Wednesday in New York City, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Dell will detail what the company is calling a "major Internet infrastructure strategy" that will include new products and services, partnerships and investments.
The strategy will be aimed at both ISPs (Internet service providers) and ASPs (application service providers), as well as "dot-com" companies, Dell said in the statement.
Other Dell executives due to speak at the 2 p.m. EDT press conference include company Vice Chairman Kevin Rollins and Michael Lambert, senior vice president of Dell's enterprise systems group.
