LONDON (04/10/2000) - E-mail outsourcing company Commtouch Software Ltd. will extend the Web-based e-mail capabilities of Microsoft Corp.'s MSN Israel to include WAP (Wireless Applications Protocol), the company said today.
The agreement lets Microsoft use Commtouch's services to provide Web-based e-mail to select MSN affiliates and customers, the company said in a statement.
MSN Israel users will now be able to access mailboxes from WAP-enabled mobile phones, allowing them to send, reply and forward messages, as well as using Commtouch's calendar integration and contact and task lists.
Microsoft took a US$20 million stake in Commtouch, acquiring 4.7 percent of the company's stock in December last year.
Commtouch has its research and development headquarters in Netanya, Israel.
Commtouch, located in Santa Clara, California, can be reached at +1-408-653-4330, or on the Web at http://www.commtouch.com/.
