Oracle Gets Okay to Export Encryption Technology

FRAMINGHAM (04/10/2000) - The U.S. Bureau of Export Administration has given Oracle Corp. the green light to export its Oracle8i database system with Oracle Advanced Security, a strong data encryption technology that was previously available to companies in the U.S. only.

Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Oracle believes companies worldwide will benefit from these products that contain strong encryption algorithms - 128-bit keys vs. traditional 56-bit keys.
