But if outsourcing your network isn't an option, here are some of Huff's suggestions for shoring up IT staffing around the clock:Make sure a potential employee understands your company culture and is comfortable with it.

When possible, keep employees on the same shift. Rotating shifts can be stressful and boost turnover.

Implement best practices for retention, such as performance bonuses, extensive training and opportunities for advancement.

Frequently measure your client load, so you can deploy IT staff when needed.
