Industry holds memorial for Green

The Australian IT industry returned from the Christmas break having lost one of its most colourful identities. Mike Green died suddenly in his Mosman home on 26 December. He was 52.

He was buried privately in Victoria on 4 January.

Last Friday, 7 January, a memorial service was held for Mike at the Sacred Heart church in Mosman, NSW. It was attended by almost 1000 people from the IT industry and the yachting community - Mike's two great passions.

After the service many of those attending raised a glass in his honour at the Sydney Flying Squadron.

Mike Green worked for many of the large companies in the IT industry including ICL, Honeywell and Wang - all three, like Mike, now memories. More recently, he worked with local communications company Scitec.
