Dell Computer this week announced it has signed a multimillion-dollar service contract with Boeing, calling for it to support PCs and other devices used by more than 85,000 Boeing workers.
Dell said it will support its own desktop and notebook PCs plus other PC brands and peripherals such as scanners, printers and bar-code devices. The contract covers Boeing locations in Seattle, Wichita, Kansas, and Philadelphia.
Last June, Boeing signed a three-year contract to standardize globally on Dell's PCs. Dell also already provides some laptop and on-site help desk support to users at Boeing, which said it expects to save millions of dollars each year in hardware and infrastructure costs through the various deals with Dell.
