FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (04/27/2000) - Diveo Broadband Networks Inc. announced today it has launched a data center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to provide a variety of Internet-related services to businesses in that city.
The data center will offer hosting of Web sites, hosting of servers -- a service known as colocation -- and broadband Internet access, the company said.
Diveo plans to pitch its data center to medium-sized and large businesses, Internet service providers, content providers, e-commerce providers and systems integrators.
Diveo, a privately-held U.S. carrier focused on Latin America and formerly known as Diginet Americas Inc., plans to open Internet data centers in Argentina, Colombia, South Florida and a second one in Sao Paulo before the end of the year.
The company won a license to provide local and long-distance telephone service in Argentina in December.
