Novell Builds Mac Support in NetWare

FRAMINGHAM (03/02/2000) - Novell Inc. yesterday announced that it will for the first time ship Macintosh TCP/IP support for NetWare 5.x. The software will be released later this year.

Currently, Macs must run client software from Prosoft Engineering Inc. to access NetWare servers and are forced to use the IPX protocol. But product manager Paul Abbott said Novell was seeing increased demand for Mac TCP/IP Internet protocol support, especially from the publishing industry and education markets.

Novell did not say whether the Macintosh file and print support will ship free with NetWare 5.1 or be priced separately.
