SINGAPORE (03/09/2000) - Pinnz Solutions International, specializing in Internet Protocol (IP) telephony infrastructure and applications, is looking to make good here with Singapore's telecommunications market due to be liberalized next month.
Pinnz provides hardware and software technologies for voice-over-IP (VoIP), fax-over-IP, and unified messaging, and has plans to add video-over-IP to its list of offerings in the future, said Daniel Wong, general manager, Pinnz.
"Our business is divided into providing network services to telecommunications providers, Internet service providers, application service providers, and content providers," Wong said, adding that the company provides worldwide IP connectivity via its global network of IP gateways.
Pinnz last week, announced an alliance with PT Pinternet Lintas Buana (PLB) to deploy its IP telephony offerings, which include fax-over-IP, in six major cities in Indonesia.
A telecommunication service provider in Indonesia, PLB is also likely to implement the company's VoIP application in the future when the service receives government regulatory approval.
Pinnz is looking to build similar alliances in Singapore, Wong said. "We're retailing directly to corporate clients to provide our services," he added.
"Now we offer only fax-over-IP, but once the market here opens up, we'll start delivering VoIP."
"We want to establish ourselves as the leading IP solution provider locally and regionally. We're constantly expanding our research and development team, testing new products, and recruiting more people in sales and business development."
Pinnz's competitive differentiator lies in its infrastructure "which is extensive throughout Asia", he said. The firm is also looking to work and interoperate with partners in the U.S. and Europe, and is currently talking with "a few interested parties" there on how to expand its network infrastructure, Wong added.
