Intel Invests in Communications Software Developer

STOCKHOLM (03/23/2000) - Intel Corp. once again has opened its Communications Fund coffers to invest an undisclosed amount in Envox Group AB, a Stockholm-based communications development software provider, Intel announced yesterday.

Made through the Intel Communications Fund set up in September last year, the Envox investment is part of Intel's drive to make CT Media server software the preferred choice for development of converged voice and data Internet applications for electronic commerce, Intel said in a statement.

Envox is an early adopter of wholly-owned Intel subsidiary Dialogic Corp.'s CT Media, and the investment is aimed at enabling the Swedish company to expand its development efforts and add new functionality to the Windows NT-based product, Intel said.

The US$200 million Intel Communications Fund normally invests amounts of less than $10 million in companies that support key Intel initiatives in voice and data communications, the company said.
