Resonate Promises Better Net Service Management

SAN MATEO (03/31/2000) - Network management specialist Resonate Inc. has updated its Internet Service Management product line with upgrades for Resonate Commander 3.1, Resonate Global Dispatch 3.0, and Enterprise Services Console 2.0.

Commander 3.1 has been expanded to include new out-of-the-box queries to check the health of e-business applications, offering end-user simulation tests at regular intervals that automatically act upon recommended preventative measures.

Commander 3.1 also features improved developer tools for customized monitoring of a system's back end with detailed reporting of individual components on a Web page.

Global Dispatch 3.0 has been fitted with an intuitive configuration and management console, providing users with more control over redundant Web sites in multiple physical locations, according to company officials.

With Enterprise Services Console 2.0, Resonate is now offering its Enterprise management service through a single, browser-accessible console product. The console provides a real-time view of deployed Resonate Central Dispatch and Resonate Global Dispatch installations.

The products' new features will offer customers greater "differentiation" methods to power their e-business applications, said Analyst Mark Hoover, president of Acuitive, a consultancy in San Jose, Calif. "It's not a major step forward in features, but it is in the usability of those features. Complex e-commerce sites and ASPs [application service providers] will benefit the most."

The new versions of all three products will be available in May. Pricing for Commander 3.1 starts at $17,000. Pricing for Global Dispatch 3.0 starts at $50,000. Pricing for Enterprise Service Console 3.0 varies based on the number of servers.
