HONG KONG (01/31/2000) - CCT Telecom Holdings Ltd. today announced details about its forthcoming Internet portal that will form the core of its multimedia content offerings.
The www.eceasy.net portal is designed for Chinese users around the world and will be launched on March 1, according to a company statement. It will lead users to sites focused on news, business, music, sports, food and wine, information about China and other subjects.
A key site will be www.andylau.com, which will offer music and video content built around the actor and singer, a Hong Kong superstar. Under each site will be an "ecmall" for electronic commerce, CCT said.
Hong Kong-based CCT's online content division, CCT Multimedia, was formed recently to work with an affiliate company, local Internet service provider HKNet Co. Ltd., and U.S.-based wireless technology vendor Teligent Inc. in offering content over fixed-wireless broadband. CCT, HKNet, and Teligent are also partners in HKNet-Teligent, which this month was granted a license by the Hong Kong government for wireless fixed broadband service.
