External storage hardware vendor Quantum has doubled the number of distributors in Australia for its Snap Server range by acquiring data storage management specialists ACA Pacific as a partner to look after a growing Victorian customer base.
ACA Pacific, which claims to have a reseller base of over 5000, joins LAN1 as distributors of the Quantum Snap Server 1000, 2000 and 4000 products to both value-added resellers and direct high-end customers.
"As a company specialising in storage technology and document image processing, Quantum's award-winning Snap Server makes an important and logical addition to our range of products," said Debra Papworth, ACA Pacific's marketing manager.
"The Snap Server is ideal for us as we like to select the best products in the market and integrate them as a total IT solution for our customers."Kevyn Ho, Quantum's Asia-Pacific sales director, said: "Quantum is indeed excited at the market potential for network attached storage (NAS) products, and plans to grow this business rapidly in the region. We envisage our dual distributor strategy will double our market reach and strengthen Quantum's dominance in the NAS market in Australia."The market for NAS devices, such as Quantum's Snap servers, is predicted by research company GartnerGroup to reach $4.5 billion globally by 2003 and Australian market growth is in line with the rest of the world.
