The offering is a private-label version of HushMail.com, a free Web-based service that attracted 200,000 users during the last year.

HushMail.com requires users to download Java software that works with any points of presence (POP) or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol e-mail client from Netscape, Microsoft and Eudora. Once the user establishes a pass-code phrase, the HushPOP software automatically handles e-mail encryption and decryption as well as management of public and private keys.

HushMail.com provides end-to-end security between users of its software who can access the Web-based service from any PC.

HushMail.com Private Label costs US$1,950 for the setup fee and then 75 cents per mailbox, per month. An enterprise version is due out later this summer with special features for network administrators.
