Compaq overhauls corporate pcs

Compaq Computer has revamped its Deskpro EN and Armada PC lines, company officials have announced. The Deskpro EN line of corporate PCs is being modified for the first time in two years and will now feature Intel's 815E chipset - the chips that surround the main processor in a PC. Most current Deskpro EN machines currently run Intel's BX chipset.

The 815E offers flexibility as graphics, sound and networking capabilities are included in the chipset, the company said. It supports three DIMM (Dual inline memory module) slots and SDRAM (synchronous dynamic access memory). These three models, now available, make up the Deskpro EN series. www.compaq.coma.uBusiness Objects announces e-BI solutionProvider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions, Business Objects, has announced a new version of the company's full client e-BI tool.
