Express Data clusters with SCO

UNIX server operating systems vendor SCO Pacific has announced the appointment of Express Data (ED) as its distributor for UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters.

Shadi Sarir, software marketing manager for ED, explained that the software complements the company's current offerings.

"We are aiming to distribute UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters through VARs and integrators in the networking space," Sarir said.

ED also intends to bundle the software with Compaq servers to allow its channel partners to offer complete solutions.

In preparation for the offerings, ED has been running training roadshows with a technical focus.

SCO Pacific's regional general manager for the pacific region, Kieran O'Shaughnessy, said that the new distribution deal was essentially an extension of an already successful relationship.

According to O'Shaughnessy, Express Data's experience in high-end networking environments has left them well-positioned to distribute the NonStop Cluster software.

"We are principally aiming at large corporates, although the product itself offers affordable high-end server solutions, making non-stop server management accessible to mid-range business as well," he said.
