CA warns Q1 results won't match estimates

Computer Associates International (CA) results for the first quarter of 2000 won't match current estimates, the company said on Monday.

The company expects total contract value to be between $US1.25 billion and $1.3 billion, it said in a statement. It gave as a comparison a figure of $1.22 billion for the first quarter of last year.

CA blamed the poor results on weak European sales and softness in its mainframe business.

Final results for the quarter are scheduled to be released on July 20.
