BOSTON (07/10/2000) - Dell Computer Corp. on Monday added the Dimension 4100 series to its midrange desktop line of machines with a starting price of US$1,299.
The Dimension 4100 series available now worldwide comes with an Intel Corp.
Pentium III processor with speeds between 733MHz and 933MHz, the Intel 815E chipset, 133MHz Front-side Bus (FSB) and 133MHz SDRAM (synchronous dynamic random access memory).
Dell officials, in a statement, said the Dimension 4100 series provides more advanced bus, memory and graphics specifications than similarly configured Dell Dimension XPS T-Series Pentium III systems. Maria Krinsky, a Dell spokeswoman, said the T-series that has been available since February 1999 will gradually be phased out over the next weeks.
The $1,299 Dimension 4100 series comes with a 733 MHz Pentium III processor, 128M bytes of PC133 SDRAM, a 10G-byte hard drive, a 16M-byte ATI Rage 129 Pro graphics card, 48X CD-Rom drive, a 17-inch monitor and a Soundblaster Live sound card.
