LookSmart has ended its content deal with Channel E in favour of InvestorWeb, the global search engine announced last week.
InvestorWeb has been enlisted to provide financial information and analysis for LookSmart's Money centre site. Channel E was the previous content provider for Money centre.
According to Allan Dib, LookSmart's marketing manager, LookSmart and Channel E "mutually" agreed to end the relationship, following a strategy restructure by Channel E.
"Channel E changed their strategy and who they are targeting," Dib said. "Our strategy and target haven't changed." LookSmart remains focused on the consumer market, he said.
LookSmart's relationship with Channel E continues to be "friendly", however. "We still have a relationship with Channel E. We are looking at (them) for other things," Dib said.
Under the new agreement, InvestorWeb will provide content and analysis for online investors, including information on local and international financial markets, recommendations on Australian shares and managed funds, the latest finance news, investment features, stock data, a live community forum, market reports, company updates and information on mortgages and property.
According to Dib, the agreement will be reviewed in about a month, to determine if it needs to be expanded or whether additional providers need to be brought on board.
