NetComm has released its new Mega-I-Modem, a v.90 external, entry level modem. Powered by a Lucent chip set, the modem is simple to set up and use. It features Bitware desktop faxing software which allows users to fax documents directly from any PC running Windows. Mega-I-Modem also comes with Internet service provider software so users can access the Internet and use e-mail straight away.

The modem is available from Tech Pacific and carries a price of $78, excluding tax.www.netcomm.com.auIomega Iomega has announced shipment of its new-look 2GB Jaz drive. The drives are compatible with Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0 and 2000, as well as Mac operating systems 8.1 to 9.

"Iomega wanted to enhance the Jaz drive by improving its ergonomics and enhancing its appearance," said country manager, Peter Dawson.

It features a new stackable design, compatible with 1GB disks, with a maximum sustainable transfer rate of 8MB per second.
