Sydney, 25 November 2003: Click2learn has appointed Andrew Major as Business Development Manager, responsible for sales of the company’s enterprise productivity solutions to the Federal Government sector.

Click2learn will also open a new Canberra office at Level 1, 88-96 Bunda Street, Canberra City.

 Government HR and IT veteran
Andrew Major has 15 years of HR and IT experience with Government departments in Sydney and Canberra.

In his most recent position, Andrew served at the Canberra-based Department of Finance and Administration as client relationship manager for United KFPW HR Services. In this role, he was responsible for day-to-day management of the HR outsourcing contract and providing strategic HR-policy and HR-process advice to the Department’s senior finance managers.

Andrew was previously national account manager at Spherion and was responsible for a multi-million dollar contract to the Department of Defence to provide desktop applications training. He also served as Spherion’s channels and alliance manager in Sydney where he managed relationships with IT companies including Microsoft, and grew revenues of Spherion’s IT professional (ITP) training products.

 New office meets Government demand for e-Learning
Click2learn’s expansion into the Federal Government sector follows the sale of the company’s Aspen enterprise productivity suite earlier this year to Centrelink.

“Centrelink’s use of Aspen to consolidate learning operations for 27,000 staff across Australia is typical of large, complex organisations that are increasing productivity through technology-enabled learning solutions,” said chief executive officer of Click2learn Asia Pacific, Con J. Kittos.

“Andrew’s extensive background in providing HR and IT solutions to Government departments – together Aspen’s proven capability to deliver real bottom-line results – position our new Canberra office at the forefront of this growing sector,” Mr Kittos said.

Click2learn commenced operations only 18 months ago and today boasts clients like St George Bank, AMP and Comalco as well as Centrelink.

The company also recently opened a Melbourne office and continues to appoint new support and business-development staff.
