Networking vendor Digi International has cut back its distribution partners, leaving Tech Pacific its sole distributor in the channel.
Although Digi refused to comment on which distributors have been left out of the loop, Tech Pacific's managing director, David Higgins, confirmed the arrangement.
"Digi International have rationalised its distribution down to one major distributor and that is Tech Pacific," Higgins said."We are very happy with the arrangement - it is a very good company with good products."
But it seems someone should have told Digi's other distributors. Doubt now remains over the company's long-standing relationship with Sealcorp Australia, and a spokesperson for CHA denied the company had been dumped by the vendor.
"CHA is still selling Digi," said CHA media representative Rob Jolly.
Sealcorp, which maintains links to Digi from its own Web site, also denied a breakdown in the business relationship.
"We still have a very strong distribution partnership with Digi," said Sealcorp sales manager, Richard Preston.
Digi managing director, Gary Spooner, said it was too early to comment on the restructure.
"We are still in the middle of a distribution restructure and a review of the whole way we go to market," Spooner told ARN.
Higgins said the deal between Tech Pacific and Digi had been general knowledge for a number of weeks.
