Telstra is still "perplexed" about a server failure that is leaving customers with sporadic access to its flagship portal, a company spokesman has admitted.
After more than three days, Telstra.com subscribers are continuing to suffer from "intermittent load-balancing" failures that have plagued the ISP since Thursday, spokesman Stuart Gray said.
Gray said Telstra technical staff were still "perplexed about the actual problem", but that the ISP was "doing everything it could" to fix the problem.
The load-balancing error, believed to originate close to Telstra's US domain registry, Network Solutions, is leaving the ISP unable to evenly divide internet traffic between its servers, Gray said, but "only some people are having problems".
Gray said it was not possible to speculate when the problems would be fixed.
