Disaster recovery unveiled for call centresDisaster recovery vendor Comdisco has unveiled a continuity service for corporate call centres designed to accommodate the evolution of these centres into Web- and e-mail-based platforms. No longer just hubs for managing customer phone calls, many call centres handle any form of customer correspondence. Comdisco has introduced InTouch to match call centre migration toward more Web, e-mail and other applications. InTouch supports interactive voice response, Web chat and mail support, and kicks in during a call centre Web enabler for Linux announcedCiting a lack of products that let companies make Linux applications available to remote users, Caldera Systems has announced it will bundle SCO's Tarantella Web enablement software with Caldera's OpenLinux server. Packaging Caldera OpenLinux Application Server with Tarantella provides for centralised management and deployment of applications, Edmundo Costa, vice president of worldwide sales at SCO, said. OpenLinux Application Server enables users with a Java-enabled browser to run Windows, Linux, and Unix applications through a LAN or remotely across the Internet.
