SOFIA (01/24/2000) - SAP Bulgaria Ltd. is set to finish construction of its offices next month, giving local users a wider choice of companies that can help them implement the company's flagship R/3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
SAP Bulgaria will be 100 percent owned by SAP's subsidiary in Greece -- SAP Hellas SA.
Up to now, the localized version of R/3 was distributed in Bulgaria by AI Informatics, a Bulgarian company owned by Vienna-based AI Informatics GmbH & Co.
R/3 already has been implemented at five companies in Bulgaria by AI Informatics. Czech Republic-based Plaut Consulting CR, in cooperation with the Bulgarian SAP consultant Latona Development, has installed an additional implementation.
In addition, Newspaper Group Bulgaria (VGB), owned by the German Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, is planning to start implementation of R/3 soon, and the local Bulgarian Coca Cola affiliate is also starting to install the software.
Meanwhile, SAP Hellas is selecting a team to develop a new Bulgarian version.
