The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and two of the nation's largest labor unions, the AFL-CIO and the Communications Workers of America, this week expressed opposition to proposed legislation that would place new restrictions on foreign investment in U.S. telecommunications firms. They said they oppose the legislation because it obstructs foreign investment at a time when the U.S. is working to lower trade barriers and open markets worldwide.
