HP Australia MD announces decision to leave

Hewlett-Packard Australia has announced that managing director, Bruce Thompson will leave the company, effective 31 August 2000.

Thompson leaves after almost 5 years as chairman and managing director for operations in Australia and New Zealand, and after 32 years of service with the company in Australia and overseas.

Thompson is noted for his time as managing director for doubling Australasian revenues, and lifting the company's profile within Australia and New Zealand.

Asia Pacific vice-president, Siaou-Sze Lien, will announce Thompson's replacement during her 2-day visit to Australia in late August.
