Enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor Geac has announced the consolidation of its various ERP operations into a single business unit to be known as Geac Enterprise solutions. The changes will see what were different areas such as asset management solutions and financial analysis come under the one umbrella.
Norbert Kiss Geac general manager enterprise solutions division told ARN the changes have been in the pipeline since January this year.
"The changes that we are now announcing are essentially external. Internally we are well prepared and will not see any upset to our day to day operations," Kiss said.
Although the changes are set to facilitate end-user relation, Kiss believes that Geac's current partners will see little difference.
"Essentially the changes are all about Geac shifting away from being the traditional vendor role to, and becoming more involved in the enterprise solution area where we provide a full service from the back office right through to online offerings."
The internal changes follow the recent acquisition of JBA Holdings and the announcement of bumper Q4 and year-end results.
The 1999-2000 financial year saw the ERP vendor post a 27.8 per cent increase for the three-month period to April 30. Geac takings grew to $US990 million up from $US780 million the previous year.
