QSI Moves Into Banking Market

Australian e-payment software provider QSI Payments has made a significant foray into the New Zealand banking market by forming an alliance with Electronic Transaction Services Ltd (ETSL).

Providing support for 90 per cent of all EFTPOS transactions in New Zealand ETSL is jointly owned by four major banks including ASB Bank, Bank of New Zealand, The National Bank and Westpac Trust.

ETSL has purchased QSI's Server Class software to process payment transactions securely for call centres and Internet retailers.

The company will also pilot QSI's Internet Pin secured Debit and B2B EFT payments for customers in December.

Earlier this year QSI aunched its payments architecture in the UK market and is being piloted by the Royal Bank of Scotland and is also being used by MasterCard International (Asia Pacific Processing Centre).
