E-commerce group Genie Systems has secured a lucrative deal with Toys R Us to roll out supply chain system management and e-procurement for it Babies R Us division.
The Toys R Us deal uses Genie's new OrderWare system which is available through its traditional reseller channel in Australia.
"Toys R US are currently restructuring their retail strategy," said Michael Hendry, CEO and co-founder of Genie Systems. "They were looking for an application that was web based, that could be implemented in a tight time frame and was instrumental in helping them achieve a more efficient delivery service."
Hendry believes the Orderware system has specific advantages for Australian resellers as opposed to imported products. "Orderware was developed in Australia and NZ so it's specifically scaled to meet the needs of the market unlike some North American applications," he said.
"It can be developed for Fortune 500 companies and offers huge opportunities for resellers to value add with solutions, integration tools and web design and integration."
Genie sell direct to select customers and also through their channel partners Quoin Technologies and SoftGen. Uniysis uses the application in its ASP offerings and Genie are in negotiations with professional services firms, such as CapGemini Ernst Young, to offer it as part an integration solution.
