SAN MATEO (08/18/2000) - BizTalk Server 2000 has been released as a public beta by Microsoft Corp. BizTalk is the Redmond, Wash.-based company's e-commerce software that is built for Internet-based business functions, such as enterprise application integration. Microsoft said the beta release marks the first time the public will get to see the orchestration tool that the company first discussed in June at TechEd, in Orlando, Fla. The orchestration tool is designed for creating and managing complex business processes that span multiple applications, platforms, services, and organizations. The other key component of BizTalk is an integration piece that consists of administration, mapping, document tracking, and management tools. Microsoft officials said the final version of BizTalk Server will be available later this year. The beta can be found at www.microsoft.com/biztalkserver.
