Sausage Software has launched itself into the Canberra market with a demonstration of its Internet and e-commerce know-how, following the acquisition of leading management and IT service provider SMS Consulting Group.
According to Lloyd Roberts, Sausage Software CEO, Canberra is fast becoming known as the "IT capital", with the largest number of Internet users in the country.
"Introducing Sausage's capabilities to one of the most sophisticated technology markets in Australia makes perfect sense," Roberts said.
Sausage plans to use its Internet applications and custom-built interactive business solutions to satisfy today's expanding Internet demands and shape future market developments.
According to Roberts, the merger with SMS, who has successfully operated in the ACT for more than six years, will give it the necessary footing to do this.
"SMS has already established a reputation in Canberra for strong business consulting and outcome delivery for clients through effective project and program management," Roberts said. "Together, Sausage and SMS have the technology, skill and people to deliver to the market a complete range of integrated Internet solutions."
Sausage was welcomed into Canberra business circles by Chief Minister Kate Carnell, who referred to it as "one of Australia's first Internet companies" and an "internationally recognised technology pioneer".
"SMS' reputation in Canberra, combined with Sausage's Internet expertise, means that the ACT has ready access to the world class solutions needed to survive the rigours of the new economy," she said.
