Rave Adds New Options for RackMount System

Rave Computer Association Inc. is offering new system configuration options for the Rave Systems RackMount-1UAXe (RM1U-AXe). Customers purchasing the RackMount system can now choose SCSI hard drives or a 48-volt DC power supply.

The RM1U-AXe, released in April 2000, features an integration of Sun's UltraAXe motherboard with Rave's 1U RackMount chassis. The motherboard, powered by a 300-MHz UltraSPARC-IIi CPU, includes three PCI slots, an onboard graphics accelerator, and an onboard EIDE controller. The new option of SCSI hard drives is expected to allow faster data transfer rates.

The RM1U-AXe operates on Solaris and Linux. The new configuration options are available immediately; the system is priced at US$2,055.
