Utility signs five-year outsourcing deal

Sydney-based Energy Australia has signed a multimillion-dollar contract for the supply and maintenance of its distribution network management system in New South Wales with LogicaCMG.

The deal includes a five-year support and maintenance agreement, with the option of a five-year extension, according to LogicaCMG officials.

LogicaCMG said it will deploy the system in two stages. Phase one, the pre-production phase, is due to finish by February 2004. Phase two is expected to go live in March 2005.

The outsourcer would not disclose the market value of the contract because of a commercial in confidence agreement with Energy Australia.
