A U.S. federal appeals court this week heard arguments from both sides in the Napster Inc. copyright-infringement case but didn't rule on the injunction barring the file-sharing music Web site from operating. The three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco could take months to rule on whether San Mateo, Calif.-based Napster will have to shut down.
