E-demand on the Rise

Demand for ebusiness executives continues to escalate with growth in the United States alone to increase from less than two million in 1999 to 9.5 million by 2004.

According to the Internet Business Strategist Survey 2000 compiled by International Data Corporation (IDC) the current ebusiness executive doesn't necessarily come from the technical ranks.

The survey found only 28 per cent came from the technical ranks, 42 per cent from marketing and sales and only 20 per cent had been involved in an Internet business previously.

It also found ebusiness executives and IT professionals had different personality types with the executive more willing to take risks than the IT professional.
