Sage secures route to market with Inecom

Professional services company Tetra has changed its name to Inecom following a merger with long-time business applications software vendor Sage International.

The merger will upgrade Inecom to sole distributor of Sage's high-end applications throughout the Australian market, with mid-range products still channelled through Sage's Perth-based distribution house.

"From Sage's point of view, it's better for them to have a company on the ground which is free to make decisions on a local level," says Brett Mundell, Inecom's group general manager. "We've got the experience to react to the local marketplace."

Inecom offers a range of services around Sage's CS/3 enterprise and business management systems to cater to the growing need for complementary e-commerce strategies. "Our clients are asking for more than just professional services products," says Mundell. "They want e-commerce solutions and business management as well."

While Inecom currently deals with its 131-strong customer base on a direct sales basis, Mundell says they are looking at adopting a second tier reseller model in some regional areas.
